Dog

A dog is not an animal in four legs
a dog is not the one that barks
A dog is what men at war do
a dog is tragic, a massacre too

A dog is when cities are set ablaze
kids are orphaned, people maimed
A dog, is not your faithful pet
One that licks your face, is a beloved

A dog is an insurgency, a house arrest
a dog is a reluctant government
A dog is poverty, a choir of hungry kids
a dog is a catastrophe where a million bleeds

A dog is the last bone of earth
a fly seeking home in a wound
A dog is system that nails you down
Dog is politics in a disheveled town
