Water 

 

 

Any death is merely a pause

Poetry is the renunciation of “completion” I had a drink of water

at the foot of  Mount Ooyama in Kanagawa

 

It had scent and taste

I could even hear its sound

 

Poetry is in essence a fixed form

Anyone’s life has alliteration and rhyme

 

 

 

 

 

 

水

 

 

 

どんな死も中断にすぎない

詩は「完成」の放棄だ

 

おおやま

神奈川県大山のふもとで

水を飲んだら

 

匂いがあって味があって

音まできこえる

 

詩は本質的に定型なのだ

どんな人生にも頭韻と脚韻がある
