Hikage Hiromi is a Japanese artist who works in reliefs made by different kinds of wood, rice paper and traditional pigments. She earned her B.A. from Musashino Art University in Tokyo and became free-lance in 1992.  She has worked as a designer for advertisement and major publishing companies, including NTT, Seibu Department Store and Warner Music Japan, and has also contributed works to hospitals, medical companies, and nursing & healing organizations. The healing nature of her work is appreciated by people in recovery from illness. Through her use of traditional Japanese pigment (derived from all kinds of minerals), her simple organic design gives gentle rhythms. Currently she is collaborating with a waka poet for a Man’yoshu (万葉集) exhibition in Tokyo.
