Born in Mexico in 1987, the son of a North American father and a Mexican mother, Ekiwah Adler-Belendez has authored four volumes of poetry: Soy (I Am); Palabras Inagotables (Never-Ending Words); Weaver (2003); Coyote’s Trace (2006); and a bilingual collection of New and Selected Poems is forthcoming. He has been invited to numerous conferences and poetry events, including Mythic Journeys 2006 and the Dodge Poetry Festival, the largest poetry event in the U.S., where he was a featured speaker. Ekiwah is currently a student at Simon’s Rock College in Massachusetts, where he has written: “Poems do not only teach us about experience, they desire to become an intimate part of the fabric that constitutes living itself, even within the enriching confines that language demands.”
