Michael Sowder
Michael Sowder’s books include The Empty Boat, winner of the T. S. Eliot Award, A Calendar of Crows, winner of the New Michigan Press Award, and Whitman’s Ecstatic Union, a study of Walt Whitman. Recently featured in Ted Kooser’s “American Life in Poetry,” his poems and essays appear widely. He teaches creative writing at Utah State University in Cache Valley, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
