Crossing
 

Across my water–wrinkled heels

the hidden distance, like a snail,

is crawling.

 

Is this water

rain?

or mud?

or my big toe?

The dirt and I

have buried lips.

We just watch the water

see a reflection,

a shard, of someone

walking away

crossing a bridge.

わたる (Crossing)

隠れていた距離が

かたつむりのように

ふやけたかかとを

這っていく

 

この水は

雨か

泥か

わたしの親ゆびか

つちもわたしも

くちびるを埋めてしまっていて

うつる橋をわたる

遠ざかるあたまを見ている
