Human beings, in particular,

are made heavier because of their souls,

so when we embrace,

our weight is not just our ordinary weight.

Not that we weigh less

on account of our sins

but that we sometimes become unduly light,

while, on other occasions,

suddenly grow so ponderous

to each other

that you think me a bronze ritual vessel

and I almost think you

to be a log.
