A water bird awoke

exceedingly early

and swam

with a painterly air,

circling the pond,

its webbed feet

brushes.

 

Having colored

the water canvas

sufficiently

morning,

the bird stopped,

down in one corner,

a signature.

 

 

 

 

一枚の絵

 

 

 

 

一羽の水鳥が

ことのほか早く起きて

湖水を

めぐった。

画家きどりで

足を

絵筆にして。

 

水面に

朝の色を配りおわると

水鳥は

湖水の隅で

動きをとめた。

自筆の

サインのように。
